Connect First Credit Union Announces New Chief Operating Officer
May 20, 2020 I Calgary, AB: Connect First Credit Union has announced the appointment of Wellington Holbrook as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). In his new role, Wellington holds leadership responsibility for key operational functions including Retail Branches, Small Business and Agriculture, Commercial and Corporate Banking, Wealth Management and Marketing & Community.
Wellington’s career has spanned banking, financial services and technology over the past 25+ years, including senior executive roles with major financial institutions in Alberta. He has deep experience leading a variety of banking functions and he has been responsible for leading culture, digital and business transformation strategy.
“Wellington joined us on March 10, 2020 just as COVID-19 was hitting Alberta. His leadership experience and acumen has been invaluable as we navigate through this and has made sure we were able to quickly implement support programs for our members” said Paul Kelly, Chief Executive Officer of Connect First Credit Union.
Paul continues, “As a Credit Union, we have a lot of work planned in the next two years to make sure we’re continually providing an exceptional membership experience. We’re updating all of our systems and looking at how we can truly support our members with high quality financial advice, at every stage of their life. Wellington’s experience and leadership will be integral to us on this journey.”
Wellington holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba, as well as an Executive MBA from The University of Oxford. He is the Chair of the Calgary Convention Centre Authority Board and serves on the board of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce as the Treasurer and Chair of the Audit Committee.
