Connect First Credit Union and Legacy Savings & Credit Union Ltd Announce Plans To Merge

Calgary, AB The Boards of Legacy Savings & Credit Union Ltd. and Connect First Credit Union Ltd. have unanimously agreed to amalgamate, subject to regulatory and membership approval. Legacy Financial will be Connect First’s third distinct operating division, joining First Calgary Financial and Chinook Financial.

Connect First Credit Union currently serves 100,000 members across 26 locations in 13 southern Alberta communities, and through the merger will add Legacy’s 4,000 members and two Calgary locations to the credit union’s operations.

Legacy Savings & Credit Union Ltd. members will be asked to vote on the amalgamation at a membership meeting on August 15, 2017.
