Calgary, Alberta – Connect First Credit Union, Platinum Club member of Canada’s Best Managed Companies and one of Alberta’s Top Employers, announced the results of its Director Election at its annual general meeting last night. Also discussed were the 2017 financial results and the proposed amalgamation with Mountain View Credit Union.
Last month, Connect First and Mountain View Credit Union announced plans to explore a business case to amalgamate and form a regionally focused credit union using Connect First’s unique operating model.
The two credit unions jointly represent more than 120,000 members and 700 employees in 44 different locations across central and southern Alberta.With approximately $6.7 billion in assets under management, the amalgamated credit union would be Canada’s 7th largest credit union.Updates on the amalgamation can be found at BetterForOurMembers.com.
Through the annual Director Election, incumbent directors: Andrew Eberl, Carey Taubert and Doug van Spronsen, were successfully re-elected. New directors: Cindy Skrukwa and Bas Wheeler, join the Board.
Continuing their terms on Connect First Credit Union’s Board of Directors are: Stella Thompson, Sarah Arthurs, Michel Cantin, Ron Gibson, Courtney Mo, Gael MacLeod, Bob Petryk, and Robert Shearer. The board of directors re-elected Andrew Eberl as the board chair, Stella Thompson as the vice chair and Carey Taubert as board secretary, in an internal selection process.
